  1. Hi there. About a month ago i had a problem with my passenger side window. It would go down but not go back up. I was pointed to a thread basically saying that it was a switch problem. I believe that this could be the correct answer. I have bought some switches to test the theory. The problem i have is that the car is a daily and i could not afford for it to be off the road. I had obviously managed to get the window back up (by luck). So i was thinking that while the window is still up i was going to get a block of wood or someting to jam it in place while i test the mechanism so if worse came to the worse at least the glass is still shut. My question is, Does the glass in anyway clip into the runner or am i safe to try this assuming that the motor will just go down and then reseat itself back into the glass if it goes up ? Also, because the motor itself will be under less pressure on the way back up (as in not lifting the weight of the glass) will i be getting a false reading in what i am seeing ? Cheers in advance.
  2. Right then something else to fix. My passenger side electric window has always been slow going up but tonight it has completely packed in. So i have power to the motor as it will go down, but not up. It is stuck in the half way position. I have taken the door card off and there seems to be a few bolts to undo. I assume that the motor is foobarred but what do i do now? The window will still go down but is it the right thing to do (as in bring it all the way down) or do i leave it at the midway point to remove the motor etc. Which particular bolts hold in the motor as i can't really see? Love you all.....thanks in advance. Also (i doubt it) but is there any sort of manual way of getting the window back up to the top?
  3. I used to have an escort cabriolet that i fitted rear electric window motors too that i bought off ebay and on unwrapping was quite surprised to see how compact they were considering the size of the rear wings and the fact that the window goes all the way down. Im tempted to try fitting them in my cti. Has anyone ever fitted any leccy motors in theirs from any other car sufficiently? I once fitted audi 80 (old W reg) front motors into a mk1 fiesta I had at the time, it was rough looking with bolt heads showing through though lol Ive never seen electric rears in a 205 myself but its just a pain in the arse to drop the electric roof electric fronts and then reach over one at a time and arm wrestle the bloody rear winders.
