I've got hold of an original Clarion PU-9318A Tape Cassette and am refurbishing it. I'm going down to the detail of polishing out scratches on the face plate and re-spraying it's buttons etc...
I've managed to crack the code and I have all the power wiring sorted.
My 205 has wiring for a modern Sony headunit which I'm removing, but I'm going to use the iso connectors that are now in the loom.
However, I'm struggling with the speaker wiring from the tape cassette. As I received it the speaker wires are wired into the choc box shown. There are six speaker wires. Somehow they should feed four speakers:
Green with White Stripe
Red with White Stripe
White
Grey with Green Stripe
Grey with Red Stripe
Grey
Both the "White with Red Stripe" and "Grey with Red Stripe" loop out to another connector - I am guessing they form a shared or common earth/return. Effectively providing four positives, and four earths.
Can anybody help with identifying the wiring colours and confirm my thinking about the common earths? I could randomly guess and wire things up at random, but didn't want to blow anything..
I have already called my local dealer and Clarion UK for information. Both have said it is too old to get information on. Clarion said "they would have to go to Japan for microfiches - and they wouldn't do that...."
Thanks for anything you can offer!
