  • Short Description My little 1.4 GR..... Had car for 2 years, doesn't do much mileage, mainly to and from work and shopping trips etc. Occasional trips to see family in Midlands, friends in outer London & Harlow. It's a nice little car, good on fuel... Up to 48mpg!! around town it's approx 25mpg. It has an accessory dealer fit tilt glass sunroof which doesn't leak :-), but a few electrical niggles, rear wash wipe only works when it wants to and from indicator requires a new bulb holder. Have replaced both headlights with new ones off ebay, only £30 each :-). My plan I suppose to replace what needs replacing, improve along the way if I can and if worth it.
  • Car Type / Usage Road car
  • Engine & Gearbox Standard 1.4 TU. Though would like to upgrade head, carb etc to XS spec. We'll see....
  • Suspension & Steering Standard at moment, though would like to replace all rubber mounts, fit gti shocks and some lowering springs up front and 1.6 gti rear axle as and when....
  • Brakes Standard, though could prob do with an overhaul as front calipers are grabbing...
  • Wheels & Tyres Standard for now, perhaps 1.6 gti alloys, or even some PTS wheels if I am feeling flush....
  • Bodywork & Exterior Standard, though pretty much every panel has either a dent, scratch or wee bit of rust. Around the lower of rear screen and bottom for drivers side front screen. Lower section of doors too has wee bit of rust too. + I have noticed behind the headlights its rusty along with usual places under bonnet.
  • Interior & ICE Have fitted a Sony MP3 ipod stereo, no cd's to get scratched... And have replaced the front speakers with Pioneer TS-G1322I's which sound great, will do so in rear when have time/funds...
  • Comments & Plans To keep it on the road, perhaps these will become sought after in few years time.....????
