  • Engine & Gearbox TU5J4 1.6 16v from a 106gti, standard except induction kit
  • Suspension & Steering Rear: refurbed Gti rear beam with 24mm ARB, 23mm torsion bars, alloy rear mounts and nylon front mount bushes. Nylon ARB end plate bushes. Gaz adjustable dampers. Standard drums
    Front: Gaz coilovers 275lb springs, BBM top mounts
    Approx 30mm lower than standard gti

  • Wheels & Tyres Rear: 13x10j weller steels in white with 215/50/13 yokohama radials.
    Front: 13x8j weller steels in black with 205/60/13 yokohama A-509s
  • Bodywork & Exterior Removed rear wash/wipe, passenger wing mirror and aerial.
    Added mini group 4 arches to cover wide wheels. Rear fogs and lights cluster smoked. Indicators and repeaters smoked. Yellow driving lights.
  • Interior & ICE Red leather seats from 306 cabriolet. Corsica steering wheel. Alpine IDA mp3 head unit, 'theloudest.com' front speakers, rear 6x9s and amplifier fitted in stealth shelf. boot floor and doors dynamatted
  • Comments & Plans Short term: Plate sunroof (probably with a sheet of carbon fibre). change front tyres to 185/60/13s. fit 1.6 gti brakes. rose jointed gear linkages. fit heated driver wing mirror. fit Gti subframe and xsara vts steering rack and 106 electric PAS. finish fitting central locking and electric windows.
    Long term: BE4R gearbox conversion. few bits of welding. possible strip down and rebuild if I get a second car. paint!
