875 I thought, 930 for a CTi? 850 for a 1.6?

Minimum race weight for a Stock Hatch 1.6 (at race finish) is 890kgs and thats with a totally stripped interior, alloy panelled doors and rear quarters(replacing interior trim), full cage, extinguisher, one seat and sufficient fuel to finish race (usually about 5 ltrs).

So I think you will find the standard cars will be a bit heavier than that.

I suppose though, on thinking about it, will the cage be heavier or lighter than the sum of weight of the removed bits, so they could weigh about the same

My mi16 (75% stripped interior) came in at 850kg last time I weighed it... I thought it' should've been lighter!!

according to Vicki Butler-Henderson, where she compares the 207 Gti to the iconic 205 Gti on fifth gear.

Kerb Weight: Vehicle weight when its not loaded with passengers and luggage. It includes full tank fuel. Gross Weight: Vehicle's Kerb Weight + Passengers + Luggage. You can also consider the following equation: Gross Weight - Kerb Weight = Vehicle's loading capacity.

I've just looked at the road test I wrote for Motor magazine in January 1987 on the 1.9. The unladen weight, with all fluids but no fuel, was quoted as 880kg (15kg more than a contemporary 1.6, thanks partly to the glass sunroof and the electric window motors, I suspect) although that might have been taken from Peugeot's own data. That might be where VB-H got her figure from, too. The weight as tested, with a full tank, two testers filled with Little Chef Early Starters, and the test gear was 1067kg which ties in with the 880kg unladen weight. The MOT brake test weights are meant to be car plus driver, but 930kg suggests quite a slim driver weighing 50kg or just under eight stone.

Probably the average weight of one of those 12 yr old housing estate car thieves from back in the day......

What we do over here to get car wieghts is to go to the local rubbish dump, and they charge you if your a commerical company by the weight of the load you drop off... So they weigh the car/trucks/pick-ups/vans before and after dumping...

If it's kinda quiet they will happly weigh the car on their weight bridge for free... If they are busy they have charged $5 before.

This is a chart I made up recently to help with ascertaining the right springs and is therefore more GTi-6 engine related, but as this is becoming the engine of choice it may be useful? Anyway:

Sorry this hasn't copied over the way it looked in the preview.
