Braided Lines, Mc's And Different Front Calipers

Recommended Posts

Paul_13

Hi all,

I was wondering if it was possible to run 1 brake line down the inside of the car (and then splits into two to feed the calipers) instead ot the two that come out the MC.

I will be using standard 205 1.9 rear calipers, will i also have to use a brake compensator? (or will 1 line feeding 2 calipers have that effect?)

Also when you order, say 'goodridge' hoses which ones do these actually come with? Do they include the lines that run from MC to the flexi hose near the rear axle

And finally would a 306 GTI-6 MC be able to cope with this setup (along with 306 gti-6 front brakes) with the correct pedal travel etc

yeh no problem there.

not a problem. one compensator will work for both calipers on a single line. many people choose to use a brake bias valve instead of the compensators.

in any kit all you will get are the parts to replace the rubber flexi hoses with braided items. none of them come with the solid pipe work aswell.

dont see any problems with using a GTI-6 MC.

and finally......

try a search.

The 1.6 uses that setup so no problems, I know allot of people don;t bother with a adjustable valve but it's worth fitting for safer braking in the wet,

You'll just need a T piece for the rear's to split the single line

306 MS is fine, Loads of people use them, I;d use the 406 top as it uses a pin to hold it for extra saftey.

Be careful with the GoodRidge hoses as all the mounting point's need modding for them to fit, After 25 years you would have thought they would have got it right by now
