Handbrake Cables

juts had a look at my handbrake cables ive had for years, and noticed one is slightly longer than the other, so looking at the car from the back which side is the longer one to go on?

from memory, the longer one goes on the driver's side as the fuel tank is deeper on that side - probably best to have a look to check
