Just a quick question with my current project, engine is pretty much in & all plumbed up but i have a slight problem with 1 or 2 hoses and parts :

hose with what looks like a vapour pipe to the charcoal canister in the wing ... where does this pipe up too now ?

DSC00444.jpg

main water hoses (thermostat housing to rad ) the one in the middle is the original 405 hose which fits the rad fine ...but doesnt mate up to the stat housing very well, the one on the right is a 406 hose which fits the thermo housing perfectly but doesnt mate up to the rad. Options ive considered are either joining the ends of the two with a pipe in the middle ...or removing one of the ends and fitting it to the other pipe if this is possible.

another shot of the bay

and the car it is in ...which started out as a 2.0 8v auto

Isnt it an RS not an R?

the charcoal canister pipe goes to the small port on the black plastic part on the front side of the throttle body, the pipe with the round inline valve goes to larger port and connects to the rocker cover

wondered when someone would finally do one of these, have you stuck with the 6 speed box?

an alloy joiner sounds your best bet to join the top hoses together, it'll be far cheaper than a thermostat housing adapter.

do I spy a BRAND NEW bumper on top of the car???

Nah as it was a xu10j4r it only had the 406 box on , now has 1900 be3 :)

bang in the middle of your first picture, the port points towards the offside and is about 3-4mm in diameter IIRC, its below the one that points skywards for the breather pipe.

will you come and live with me, just so when ever i have a question you can instantly answer it in real life? yesterday i was trying to refit the bulbs to the indicators on my car and i spend 35 mins trying to put them in the wrong way up. (the bulb holders where the wrong way up going into the back of the light, the actual bulb was the in correctly  )
