(and what is considered high) for example, could this damage be caused by the rod bolts? :-/ http://gallery.ifcho.net//cache_big/205GTI...en/STA50062.JPG http://gallery.ifcho.net//cache_big/205GTI...en/STA50059.JPG more for high rev limits for extended periods, i.e pretty much essential kit for a trackcar that spends alot of the time in the higher reachs of the rev band for longer periods. for 86 quid, if i was building a track car they would be very high on my shopping list. even for a road car there a sound investment to a replacement/rebuild of the engine. mike edit: usually a conrod poking through the block is a good indication of a rodbolt letting go. your pics look like oil starvation. ifcho 0 Posted December 29, 2008 I think that this was the result of oil starvation/too high oil temperatures as well...I gave the pics just as an example. Anthony 1,002 Posted December 30, 2008 Rally Design were the cheapest by a fair margin when I bought some a couple of years back - no idea if that's still the case. They're listed as 306 btw. (PS. I guess 86 quid is not that bad when you consider the advantages - its just to me they look like some bolts you would buy from B&Q for 5 quid - how wrong I can be!!
