chris-gti 14 Posted December 26, 2008 I've tried the search function and can't find the answer I'm looking for so apologies if this has already been brought up. Basically i have a 306 s16 lump which is going in my 205, I just wondered if the GTI-6 head would bolt straight onto the s16 block? Thanks, Chris
welshpug 1,661 Posted December 26, 2008 (edited) yup essentially the same block and crank, with different rods and pistons, you may end up with a slightly low compression ratio with the differing combustion chamber volumes and deck height-dish/dome volume of the pistons. chris-gti 14 Posted December 26, 2008 Thanks for the fast reply, Would you say i'd be better off sticking to an s16 head then?
B1ack_Mi16 67 Posted December 26, 2008 Putting the GTi6 head onto the S16 block will increase compression a little bit, approx from 10.4 -> 10.8. About 3cc difference in chamer size.
chris-gti 14 Posted December 26, 2008 Thanks for that, neither here nor there then on the grand scale of things. think i'll look for a gti-6 head to drop on.
