If anyone is interested, I have heard that F1 engines run cams with 430° of duration, meaning compression is done entirely with intake valve opened, solely on air mass movements due to very high piston speeds.

 

Also, engine has just so tight clearances, that it needs to be preheated with hot water at 80°C flowing through engine block, just to make parts movable.

 

Crazy stuff.
