Hi, I'm new to this site and I thought I'd put up a bit about my car.

I bought my 205 about a year ago and it was in a bit of a state.

I'll let the photos do the talking of what I have done etc:

So...here is my track toy!

Photos from when I picked it up:

Looking good! Think the ph2 lights have freshened it up abit. You going to put that battery in the boot? think the quad lights will make it look nice and scary! :)

Thats all for the moment, I haven't really had the time so fiddle with it since my track day to lydden hill in June!

The plan now is to fit a new radiator, tyres and exhaust and then go about trying to put it through an MOT as I think I'll use it a lot more if i can use it on the road!

The immediate things that I think need doing for this are:

Sorting out lighting of the fog/reverse lights

New exhaust

Sort the horn out

Re install the windscreen washer system!

Bought a few bits today:

Haynes manual (think I already had one but I've lost it)

Stobel Horn

Washer pump from GSF

Washer jet pipe

2 x twin jet washers (need to attach to main car as the bonnet is completely removable)

All in preparation for getting it through its MOT.

A couple of questions to anyone reading this:

1: I need to get a fairly large chip in my windscreen filled, does anyone do this if you don't have insurance (I know you can get it free on insurance)?

2: If have my lights on and then put the hazards on the lightd dip as the hazards come on, what could be causing this?

3: Do you need a reversing light for an MOT?

Cheers,

Matt

Quick update:

Changed the manifold and exhaust system and fitted some fogs I had lying around (not sure if I like them yet).

Is nearly ready for its MOT!

Soooo......after 3 years with not enough money for a track day, I have finally managed to take it out to Brands. I spent the day before checking and preparing everything and fitting a new radiator to solve my previous overheating issues.

I managed to clock up 140 miles of track driving and had a brilliant time. The car was great with no issues except a bit of fuel surge when the tank got below half. I think I will be looking at a swirl pot before my next track outing.

Anyway, here are the pics:

Can't believe it has been over a year since my last track day! Part of the reason for my lack of time/money etc is the prchase of this:

On the 205 front, I have decided to get it on the road and use it as a second car. I might have to "soften it" a bit for everyday road use but it will largely remain the same. Might change the seats for some standards and keep the buckets for trackdays.

I'll aim to get it MOT'd within the next 2 months. Now to find an insurance company who will cover me on such a modified car that will be used on occasional track days.

The car is now in the final stages before MOT time.

I have changed the wiper motor for a 106 one which works very well and I replaced the lights with proper ones (i.e. phase 1) and I'm loving the retro look.

Next on the list is bonnet hinges and catch system and i will paint the grill silver again for the more standard look.

Can't believe after 4.5 yrs of ownership, I will finally be able to drive it on the road! Anyway, heres the photos.
