allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted December 12, 2008 how does the gti6 oil cooler buisness work, what should i expect to see, and how well does it work.. pics if possible as ive not got the engine yet but want to prepare myself its a heat exchange type, it uses two pipes off the coolant system. its the same as the ones fitted to some gti's and mi's as far as i can remember. Think most people get rid of them or replace them with an aftermarket one.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted December 13, 2008 It is a Heat exchanger, The water will heat the oil up which on a road car get's it too normal running temps quicker, then the water will cool the oil to a degree but anything like track work will get the water heating the oil and the oil heating the water so not good.
