Scooby Max 0 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi Folks.. I'm new to the forum, and this has probably been answered before. (I have tried searching.. honest!) I've been given a couple of spare ignition modules. The thing is.. one has 5 pins, the other has 6 and the one on the car, which is a 1.6 GTi has 7 pins. Does anyone know what the function of these extra pins are please? Cheers Max
DamirGTI 342 Posted December 12, 2008 (edited) For 1.9 8v/16v engines you need 6 or 7pin ignition amp. ... as for the pins it's like this : pin No. 1 coil 2 batt. - 3 batt. - (chassis earth or usually shielding wire connection pin ..) 4 batt. + 5 input signal + 6 input signal - 7 tacho out (unused on Jetronic/Motronic engine managements) Damir EDIT : it must be MTR 01 amp .. MTR 01 is amp code for "pick up" ignition system Edited December 12, 2008 by DamirGTI
