Guest liamcafs Posted December 10, 2008 I have an Mi16 in the 205 and have a few questions for folks with pressure gauges and Mi16's 1. What is you idle oil pressure? 2. What is your max oil pressure? 3. Does anyone know what kind flow rate they are getting from their pump, how quickly does you engine cycle its oil? 4. What is the minimum safe oil pressure for a Mi16, not talking about surge just safe min pressure. If you have any info on this I would be most grateful. Jon_Bmw 13 Posted December 10, 2008 Normal driving: 70 psi cold idle 34 psi hot idle 65+psi when above 1500rpm and under load. Track driving: As little as 24 psi hot Idle(although I suspect this is more to do with the grade of oil- 10w40 semi) 55+ psi when above 1500rpm and under load. It does drop on long sweeping bends to around about 30, so we need to sort out a baffle sooner rather than later! I don't have the answers to questions 3 and 4, sorry. Rob Thomson 6 Posted December 15, 2008 Can't remember the exact flow rate off the top of my head but have a vague memory it's something like 25 litres per minute.
