CaptainK 11 Posted December 1, 2008 As we know, analogue TV is being bumped off and replaced with Digital TV, starting next year in the SouthWest. I was wondering, is normal analogue radio being killed off as well starting next year? Main reason why I ask is because the missus wants a new CD/Radio player for her car for Christmas. So if digital radio is needed, then I'll opt for one with a digital receiver.

Fox 3 Posted December 1, 2008 Unlike digital TV, digital radio never seems to have taken off, I had a in car DAB a few years ago, and to be frank, the stations were fairly poor.
CaptainK 11 Posted December 1, 2008 That sounds like it won't be a problem for a while then.
jeremy 70 Posted December 1, 2008 Not until 2020 or something IIRC. This is very similar to what the TV ariel guy said to me only several months ago, as I was considering a DAB ariel for the home, so did not bother as our FM signal is fine, plus the digital channels through sky and our BT Vision. SurGie 54 Posted December 3, 2008 You might as well buy a normal stereo, you can buy DAB box attatchments that will work on all exsisting stereo's via plug etc..
