Dipstick Length / Sticks No Longer Available

What is the length of the 1.6/1.9 XU dipstick? (overall from the seal + to the top/bottom marks.

 

My Peugeot stealer informed me that the original dipsticks are not longer available (even on back order) and have sold me a strange yellow, all plastic, cylindrical dipstick as a replacement.

 

I dont have an old stick to check against.

You can apparently get them from GSF also;

Yes but he does post them instantly, i got mine the next day and there was no fuss. Couldnt fault it and saved the hassle of going to the goons at peugeot and explaining you want a dipstick for a 20 year old car.

 

And graham, have you used the gsf items? as the 1.9 sticks are slightly longer arent they due to the sump spacer?

no, as they use a shallower sump.

No, I haven't used the gsf dipsticks but much the same as Peugeot I'd expect that even though they are listed under the same part number (1172.79) if you ask for one for a 1.9 GTi they'd supply you with the right one.

 

Although they all have the same dipstick anyway.
