Re-building Loom

Recommended Posts

MerlinGTI

Ive managed to get hold of a spare and incredibly good condition engine bay loom for my car.

The plan is to retain the orginal plastic multiplugs BUT to replace each individual spade connector inside them. 90% of these connectors are the same standard size but obviously they need to fit inside and stay inside the orginal plastic multiplugs, which rules out putting every day spade connectors in them.

So the question is where can I buy these little sods from??

Heres a pic:

Pug only (or Citroen). Not overly expensive. The little terminals in the JT plugs (injectors, AFM, coolant temp sensor, ECU) can be bought from Vehicle Wiring Products and Auto Electrical Supplies.

oh brilliant! didnt relise pug still do them on their own.

Made my day there GL :)

Next question is there a tool that will replicate the really even and tight crimps on these? Standard ratchet crimpers wont do it as well as the factory did.

yep, non insulated ratchet crimpers will do the trick, about £20.

Just replaced the plug onto my AFM with one from here:

Highly recommended :)

The plug is alot better design to remove than orig Pug ones

If you are going to the trouble of replacing the terminals inside I would change all the plugs and boots over to these.
