If you are running injection which you will be there will be an ECU, under the dash drivers side is where it should be.

If your getting carbs then you don't need a TPS, or injection loom or ECU. It can all go to be replaced with a dizzy setup. You can run stand alone ECU like MS or Emerald with carbs, then you may need TPS. If you get some bodies instead or carbs then you will need all injection stuff but again a stand alone ECU will be needed you can't use the standard one.

right then so if put the carbs on but i wanted to keep my standard ecu so i would just tape the loom up for the injectors and afm and tps would the dizzy still work ok sorry about this my previous car was a mini so all these electrics baffle me

Yeah you don't need the ECU, all that controls is the injection. Tape it all up and then the wiring for the dizzy, coil and amp will still produce a spark at the right time (providing the timing is correct) and the carbs will inject the fuel (providing you have the correct fuel pressure and jets).
