Woosner Pistons And Rods

Recommended Posts

Ebay

Hi everyone

I wondered if anyone had any experience of using Woosner pistons and rods. Its not a brand name i have ever herd of. As these sets are for sale for £900 the full kit. Which seemed fairly reasonable?

I wondered if it was worth buying this kit or look at using a more expensive set of pistons on standard rods?

Thanks

Andy

Sam

The 400bhp+ (I think he pushed more but had issues) supercharged 306 GTI6 runs Woosner pistons. Rich did say he had some sort of issue at the start but I think it was the simple case of the wrong part supplied or something minor, maybe he will post. You can get Wiseco pistons pretty cheap from the states but they don't ship internationally as they have dealers here (with hefty markup). If you were going the turbo route I have a set of pistons and rods for sale for an S16

just in case you were thinking of building a charged engine:

OE Compression ratio is 10.4:1. These pistons raise the comp ratio to 11.8:1 for naturally aspirated applications.

Crazy-legs!

I'm running a set of forged Wossner 86.5mm piston in my 2.0l turbo and so far, they've been fine! for the money, the quality seems quite good and they seem fairly readily available.

Hope this helps! Marc.

Andy what spec of engine are you planning on running then?

Seems like a lot of outlay on the face of it thats all, esp if you arent going boost.

Knife edged crank

Wossner pistons with steel rods

New liners

Big valve head

Billet flywheel

Peter T's cams

1.9 box with quafe diff

Miles 4 branch exhaust system

weber 48's
