munster 0 Posted November 12, 2008 When i fire the MI up from cold, she always revs up to about 2,5000rpm for the initial first second, before dropping down. This makes me grimace every time as i hate revving a cold engine, let alone the very second it starts. I'm not giving it any throttle by the way. How can i cure this chaps? j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted November 13, 2008 Revving to 2.5k isn't going to do anything to the engine IMO, as long as your oil level is correct, its still low revs. What does it drop down too after? Just sounds like the idle control valve is doing its job....
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted November 13, 2008 This is apparently normal on some Mi16 ECUs. If it's not that, before you switch off the engine at night try revving the engine up a bit and turn the ignition off before the revs start to fall back down see if it makes any difference.
