Pattern Wings, Gti, Which Ones?

Recommended Posts

Is there a best type of pattern wing to use or would i be better with a s/h genuine one? Also the panel under the wing which is like a mug guard panel which is to the rear of the front wheel, are these available as pattern parts?

A second hand genuine one would be a better bet if you can get hold of one, but Hadrian wings aren't to bad, they just require a bit of adjustment to get them to fit correctly, and plenty of treatment to prevent them rusting.

A genuine one would be my choice, patterns ones seem to be a poor fit like pattern bumpers, and often don't have the side repeater hole.

Sits in at the bottom edge where it meets the door? That's the usual problem with them.

Thanks for your replies. Paintguy, if i can delve into your experience. I've welded in the seat rails and the underseal has burnt off underneath. Also where the floor was seam welded (by a blind monkey with a stick welder by the look of it!) by a previous owner the underseal has come off and it's gone rusty (surface). What's the best way to seal this? On the inside I have wire brushed down to bare metal and then sprayed etch primer on so far. Going to use primer filler and then top coat, and in the engine bay too. Underneath I was thinking at rubbing down, underseal, hammerite or stonechip. I've seen this POR15 stuff too. Basically I don't want to the rust coming back. I hate bodywork/ paint with a passion but determined to do it myself All advice appreciated!

Getting new wings from peugeot costs £150 a wing but they will fit perfect though.
