Alfie 6 Posted November 6, 2008 Just about have the interior sorted now, thanks to you guys! My drivers seat is fine other than some crease wear on the bolster and outer edge. Some sort of recolouring is all that is required but I'm not sure what to use. Any ideas please?
mr_exe 1 Posted November 6, 2008 When I had half leathers I used the Wurth Plastic Dye, which I was most impressed with and worth the rather high asking price. I think its a trade only thing however.

Cheers Mr Exe, Can't find it on Ebay. I'll try a motor factor nearby.
Baz 421 Posted November 6, 2008 There's not alot you can do once they've cracked and worn. I've found a good leather cleaner and hide feed supples them, then boot polish makes them look a little better though.

Hi Baz, wouldn't say they are cracked , rather very fine light coloured lines, actually, boot polish might be worth a try! Ive got some leather feed-tried that but just got "shiny" white lines lol. Trouble is with all this specialised stuff, its so bloomin dear and you end up with 500ml of the stuff that dries up on the shelf at the back of the garage. Last Legend 0 Posted November 7, 2008 I would give the liquid black shoe polish a go first if you've nothing to loose and it very minor, only do the cracked bit rather that the whole bolster and make sure you thorougly buff off the excess!
MrG 3 Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) depends how poor the leather is and shoe polish is ok for a while but will soon wear off again (and maybe on your clothes?) and don't paint it. for a perm solution then the dyes that are around are good, best place to go though are these people >> woolies trim place I've just ordered some feed and dye for the seats in my old BMW (which is a sort of blood red). Pricey though. Edited November 10, 2008 by MrG
Paintguy 0 Posted November 11, 2008 I went ghetto with mine I coloured all of the cracks in with a permanent black marker pen, then did the boot polish trick. Looked rather good for quite some time afterwards That Woolies dye kit looks like a better and more lasting idea though.
