djinuk 2 Posted November 4, 2008 My horn on my 205 has stopped working, its just a basic electronic horn, that sits under the headlight, not the air horn sort, it stopped working when I changed my engine, could anybody give me a quick run down on what to check and how it earths etc, could I put a multi meter anywhere to see where abouts the problem is etc.. I cut out the brown multiplug when I swapped engines and bridged the wires with new connectors, do any of these relate to the horn? thanks
Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted November 4, 2008 on my ph1.5 there are 2 relays up next to the expansion tank . 1 of these is a relay for the horn which is very easy to loosen while doing engine work. other than that its stalk, bad earth or horn. Al
mr_exe 1 Posted November 5, 2008 I would suggest checking the connections on the horn, as it could be a bad connection as its near the ground and could have been affected by spray
WooDooUK 1 Posted November 10, 2008 I have had two issues with my horn in the past, First port of call would definatly be the connections on the horn, due to there location they can get corroded quite easily, give them a good clean and plenty of copper grease. Then do the same on the relay (on my car the relay is near the header tank and its easy to spill coolant on it when filling up.) I have had the relay itself fail also. Hope that helps.
