If you can get a screen it's easy to do yourself.

Push out the old screen with your feet, lay a blanket/rag etc down to catch the bits of glass though, this way you can re-use the seal if it's good.

Probably an idea to clean up the screen's aperture and give it a polish/wax etc to prevent corrosion.

The new screen with rubber can be laid over the aperture, and strong string placed inside the rubber between the inner & outer lips, then, getting someone else to gently press against the rubber/screen you can pull the string out from the inside of the car, which pulls the seal into the aperture, sealing it up.

Carefully and slowly is the trick, it may take a couple of attempts to get right, and you can crack the screen if not careful/it doesn't go in straight so take it easy. As said, use some strong string as it can break, leaving you half way in & stranded! I also tend to leave a couple of loops around the screen to grab should this happen, or the string pull it's way out without pulling the seal in. Good luck!

Yep, as Baz said. The only thing I do differently is removing it. Take a flat blade screwdriver, wrap some electrical tape around the tip to get rid of the sharp points and then go sit in the passenger seat. Look at the top of the screen and the rubber that goes around it. Put your arm on the top of the glass (preferably with a jumper on in case the glass breaks) and then lip the rubber down with the screwdriver. Apply a bit of pressure with your arm and work along the top and down the side of the screen unlipping all the rubber. Then go sit in the drivers side and finish it off until only the botton is lipped then you can lift the screen out from outside. If you do it this way the chance of breaking the screen is a lot less so you won't have glass splinters everywhere.

Edit, For refitting you want some string about the same thickness as household electrical appliance lead. I have fitted a screen using an extension lead before although it was a bit awkward having the plugs and stuff swinging and also used coated washing line string. This is too thin though so would need doubling up

I get my change pot out and put 2p coins in the seal all round the screen holding it back then the screen pops out easily with no damage to the screen or seal.

Sorry, you are right, from my thread about my screen.

They quoted £109 or was that autowindscreens. I'll call them.

£237 with Autoglass if I get the car to them. £360ish for them to come and do it at home or work.

£80 for a local firm from the yellow pages.

Also when you get it done make sure the fitter brings the bronze tinted screen as opposed to the clear one, it makes a difference to the looks IMO

I've just had mine replaced via the insurance, cost me an excess of £70.

Easy done, completed by this guy in around 15mins. But they could only source a clear one, although I'm not fussed as the cracked original was clear to.

I may get a PTS sunstrip on it now though.
