JSF2004 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Quick query! My 1.9 has a problem in that it runs fine at higher revs, but let the revs drop below say 3000 rpm in any gear and it misfires... Put foot down a bit, revs rise above 3000 rpm roughly and it springs back to life runs smoothly and pulls hard again.. Can you give me an idea what this is likely to be.......It is a consistent misfire if that makes sense..ie the car doesnt splutter, just sounds like it is on 3 cylinders.... Apologies if this is a repeat asked question, couldnt find an obvious answer in the search... Thanks in advance Cheers

Thanks in advance Cheers First things to check would be the dizzy cap and rotar arm, look for cracks in them, i had a similar problem on an mi16 engine where a hairline crack in the rotar arm was causing a miss at low revs, then have a look at the leads, make sure theres no splits and there not arcing out. If they look ok then look at things like ignition amp and coil.
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted October 30, 2008 As above, rotor arm (or cap) would be the first to look at. Even if they don't look damaged/worn I'd still replace them.
