NeilGTi85 5 Posted October 24, 2008 Hello All, I'm about to move my battery to the boot, I'm looking for a Gel (sealed) battery and a box. I've seen this : http://www.sm-engineering.co.uk/alloy_battery_box.php And : http://www.barden-uk.com/odyssey-sbs-high-...-batteries.html ( PC1200 ) Comments Cheers, Neil
Phil H 16 Posted October 25, 2008 Our Citreon Picasso has a gel battery as it is under the seat if you were looking for a common one.....
Longfield 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I don't know what your car is like [road or track or race] but if its a track or race car with very little electrics, you could get away with a gel battery from a mobility scooter. Cheaper and smaller than the redtops and very reliabile. I know a few people with them in their track/race cars now and none of them say a bad thing about them. Hope this helps. jtek 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I am also looking at doing this, may research the Picasso batteries, may be a bit of a saving as well, does anybody know the best place to get wiring and connectors? Do Halfrauds stock that sort of thing? Cheers
matty_gti 20 Posted October 28, 2008 They do but they'll dent your wallet!, best try a motor factors or buy a kit with the relevent fixings ect. Im sure you could get them cheaper online.
