dcc 855 Posted October 22, 2008 What size is the driveshaft nut, which holds it to the strut, the biggest I had was a 32, and it wouldnt fit. Also just repaired a small hole in my block with some Alloy Epoxy resin, great stuff and looks like its done the job. is this a suitible long term fix? Where can I get my car setup and remapped properly - including on a rolling road? (and if possible - a rough cost) Many thanks
welshpug 1,657 Posted October 22, 2008 35 or 36mm. where was the hole? in the waterway on the back of the block where the headbolt comes through if the spacer is missing? remapping I haven't a clue around here, Powerstation in Tewkesbury would be the only place I know of that's not too far, which management system is it? that will ascertain who will do it usually! mattbenselin 0 Posted October 22, 2008 Peugeot seemed to use different size nuts over the years, or they have been replaced by mechanics who used what ever they had. My 205 GTI '89 and '92 both had 30mm fronts and 32m m rears. As for mapping, I know Hi-Tech Motorsport in Birmingham are really good and they know 205's. Might not be too far for you. Good luck buddy.
dcc 855 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Its on the front face of the block, I have a picture here of the crack (hard to get a decent picture of that) And a zoomed out picture of the repair As for the management, its currently using a dizzy adapter to run on the 8v management. Ideally I'd like to get it wired for the 16v management which is sat in the corner of the garage. Edited October 22, 2008 by dcc
large 33 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) THere is a R.R. just above Pontypridd and I think there is one in Bedwas (spelling) If you like I can try and dig out the No for the one in Ponty. 1 hour on the RR is about £60-£80 depending on the engine. I dont think he remaps, just sets up the timming and other stuff. I think a power run is about £10. Edited October 22, 2008 by large
