205 Euro Rallye With 309gti Arb

Recommended Posts

205Rallee

Hi folks,

Firstly, Sorry if this question has been asked many times before!

Is the 309 ARB any thicker than the 205GTi ARB and is it a direct swap? How easy are they to get hold of?

Cheers

yes it is thicker and a direct swap, but its not really a good idea to uprate this alone, especially with a fairly light engine in the front.

I've got bilstein ride height adj tarmac dampers, rose jointed top mounts, groupA bottom arms and Skip Brown dual rate tarmac 2 1/4" springs. Running 21mm t bars and 23mm arb with bilstein tarmac dampers at rear with solid sub frame mounts, just trying to cut a wee bit of the roll at the front.

You need the matching bushes and clamps with the 309 bar but other than those its a direct swap.

Given the rest of your spec, i'd say it was a fairly even matched upgrade, worth trying.

Is the 309 axle(and roll bar) not slightly wider?
