gtiles85 0 Posted October 12, 2008 I have done a search on this and i have found what i was thinking was the problem but there was something else that wasn't mentioned that i want to double check ? Now the gti6 conversion ( with the 6 speed box ) is more or less complete there are a couple of things i need to do. The main problem i'm having is it is practicly impossible to change gear while the engine is running but it can be done with force, and it wont go into reverse at all, just grinds, but when i switch the engine off the gear change is really good. I think that it is a prombem with the release bearing but before i get the gearbox off to do that could it be anything to do with the self ajusting clutch cable ? alync406 4 Posted October 12, 2008 Sounds like the cable is not adjusted correctly.If it is a self adjusting cable maybe it is faulty.It would be easier to check this than take the box out. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
