Wiring Hell!

Hi folks,

this has been bugging me for a while now and i want it fixed. Since i bough my 205 a couple of years back its had some pretty annoying wiring problems some that ive managed to fix but avast some remain. ( My mechanicsonce told me "your wiring looks look someones had fun with it and then got bored")

My front passengers side fog refuses to work, even though it is getting power.( used one o them things with a bulb in to check it) I have changed the bulb obviously and checked the wiring and there doesnt seem to be any sign of problems so im stumped. It gets power when the drivers one has a bulb in put not when it doesnt, is this usual?

The next joy is my reverse light, the car was 1.5 put the previous owner did possibly the worlds worst rear light conversion to 2. I managed to fix it by just chopping the whole back loom out and replacing it with a phase 2 loom but never did the reverse(the plug into the gear box was missing for some reason). so i took it to a mechanic who did it, and it worked... for a day afterwhich when ever i went for reverse the engine cuts out. after a gander under the bonnet i find its wired into the ignition coil. i took it off and problem solved, no light but at least i can go backwards. any ideas about how to prperly do the job? also since it started cutting when going for reverse out the engine has started given a jerky ride when cruising at 3000rpm. any help would be great.

quite an essay i worte there sorry!

The near side "driving light" this sounds like it may be the bulb holder. The reverse light I would say all you need to do is pick up your live from something else (any switched live). You could run it straght off the bat but if you left it in reverse over night you wont be starting the car in the morning :)

Super Josh

The driving light is usually corroded connections in the yellow plug where the light plugs into the main loom. It's about 30cm back up along the cable.

The reversing light wires are on a brown multiplug under the dash near the clutch pedal. if you find that you can trace them through to the engine bay.
