Immobiliser Immobilisation... :p

Recommended Posts

hey guys, as some of you may know i've bought a 405 mi to whip the engine from for my 309.

the only problem is that it has an immobiliser; i hate these things!

are these easy to disconnect, or is the circuitry within the ECU modified?

any help will be much appreciated!

Is it a 1.9 or 2.0 Mi16?

If it's a 1.9 Mi16 then it'll be a nasty aftermarket thing and not related to the ECU at all - usually easy enough to remove/bypass, depending how well it was installed.

If it's a 2.0 Mi16 then it'll likely have an keypad immobiliser to the ECU, but easy enough to disable - ignition on, enter the code so light goes green, and unplug the ECU (with ignition still on). Then the immobiler is deactivated and ready for a 205/309 install

Absolutely, especially if it's anything like the usual half-a**ed installations I see from "professional" installers ;)
