Diff Bearing Removal

Anyone know how you get the diff bearings off? I'm hoping they're not just pressed on as i dont have a press to put them onto my new slippy diff.

 

Alternatively, anyone know where you can get new diff bearings?

Miles for the bearings

 

and local engineering shop to press old ones off and new ones off cost me £10

As said, I supply the bearing's, Fitting them is easy as you can use a socket and a vice

Be warned you may have to get the dremel out on the diff housing as mine and ive read others have had the new lsd foul on the housing!

 

all worth it thou, jus be careful on that first foot full of throttle

The Quaife diffs are OK I think, its the Trans-X diff that you need to grind away some of the diff casing to fit.

 

Doesn't take long though with a Dremel, if needs be I can scan in the doc's I got with mine (new) that show exactly where you need to grind away, and tells you how check the setting you have

Kaaz also require a grind away also.

to get bearing off you will need to use a knife edge tool in a press, and a socket and press will get them on

Thanks for the info guys, the diff is a Kaaz jobbie so i'll post back with results when i've tried it all
