Somewhere down by the drivers side footwell you'll have two cables joining to the central locking loom of the 205. youve probably pulled one off. Have the monkey's just twisted and taped the connections?

Edit:Was your Valet switch in the glove box? If so the joints will probably be in the passenger footwell.

Does the central locking still lock and unlock on the key OK, thus ruling out a faulty drivers side solenoid?

It depends on exactly how the alarm installer has installed the alarm as to the likely issue, and without seeing it it's hard to say, but given yours is a Phase 2 car, it would be worth checking the wiring going to the RCL controller unit under the dash to the left of the steering column as they've possibly wired the alarm into the wiring for that - assuming they've not run a second solenoid to the drivers door of course.
