off any 8 valve non turbo XU engine in yer local sprappy, most notably the XU10, they are said to have larger ports, but are sold by Peugeot/Citroen under the same part number (for about £160)

Same here, as long as they're not majorly cracked like m,ost, particularly earlier ones, nowt wrong with a used one.

I'd be more than happy with a used one, so long as it not cracked or one thats previously cracked and since repaired.

I've a day at Donington next week so I'm getting desperate.....

....anyone thats got a used, uncracked one that is prepared to sell please let me know asap please

Cheers

Jeff

I'm fairly sure I'll have a phase 2 one sat about (with the bracing to stop it cracking), and I'm not a million miles away if you wanted to pick up. Let me know.

Exhaust blow/loss of power etc...

Just a weak point across cyl 1&2.

As Baz says, it is suposed to cause a bit of loss of power and I believe increase fuel consumption (by decreasing the engine's efficiency?). Something to do with gas velocity exiting the system, cooling down quicker, becoming more dense and therefore requiring more power to shift it... (or something like that B) ) Either way, you dont want a blowing system. I dont have any technical data to back that up but its what I've heard.
