8v Oil Pressure Switch Brass Washer

Recommended Posts

mojo1997

I had a major oil leak coming from the oil pressure switch (the green one next to the alternator), so got a new swich from GSF but on removal of the old switch I noticed that there is a small brass washer, similar to the one on the sump plug. I didn't get a new washer with the new switch and was wondering

1, since it was leaking quite bad should the washer be replaced

2, can the washer be purchased seterately

3, what would cause the switch to suddenly leak badly

What a coincidence! I need an answer to this too, as mine is leaking like an old lady since I took it off to fit a brass T (for a 2nd pressure sender). Complete arse cheese :)

it should be a solid copper washer not brass, so pretty easy to get hold of at most motorfactors, or peugeot.

since theyre copper they toughen up over time, bear in mind how old they are and the number of heat cycles they've been through!

part numbers and dimensions as follows.

0164 30 PLUG SEAL 16mm X 22mm - 2mm.

1170 09 PRSS SWTCH SEAL 10mm X 13,5mm - 2mm

Hi,

Just a quick point. Copper can always be re-annealed. Heat to to red heat and dunk in cold water. Will be ok
