j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted September 27, 2008 Either cut them off with a dremel or alike, or get some snap-on bolt extractors, never fail.
lagonda 42 Posted September 27, 2008 Try hitting them with a hammer & flat punch. The problem is rust, & with a bit of luck the impact shock will break up enough of it to loosen them. Use mole grips or see if you can knock on a smaller size socket.
Kriss 0 Posted September 27, 2008 the problem i thought with the dremel is would i be able to acsess the lower one's. Never thought of a centre punch, snapped my last one trip tohalfraudsfor me then. Any other idea's??
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted September 27, 2008 The lower ones would probably be easier i would have thought, just do it from underneath.
steve@cornwall 100 Posted September 27, 2008 I assume these are the earlier 10mm ones? Use an old 3/8 socket and persuade it to fit on the nuts with a hammer! works brill!. Try and just "crack" the seal on each nut, rather than removing one at a time as this will keep the last couple from having too much pressure put on it by the manifold which may well be heat warped
Peetypug 5 Posted September 27, 2008 you can get some irwin nut/bolt extractors THESE they work a treat
