Can I Grind These Bits Flat!

Wondering if I can grind these bits flat without going through the casting, as they do sod all and will be hampering my polishing efforts :rolleyes:

I have not myself, by why not? Have a look on ebay for folks selling polished ones for silly money, their pics should help.

Those lugs are there to enable the casting to be clamped down when it is originally machined from a bare casting. As others have said you can remove them if you wish.
