Fuel Hose Fittings And Sizing, Jic?

been looking at ways of mating the 10mm hose from the S16 fuel rail to the standard 205 gti fuel filter which on the 8 valver uses a 12mm Banjo and a 7mm hose connection.

 

seen these - M12 BANJO X -8JIC

 

which I presume need these to fit the hose? -8 JIC STRAIGHT FEMALE FITTING

but I'm confused as to what the sizing information means, the M12 part is easy, but -8JIC?

 

or do I just say sod it and fit a 405 filter that has tails?

JIC sizes are measured in 16ths of an inch, so -8JIC is 1/2" (8/16)

 

The 405 filter is probably easier and cheaper than messing about with adaptors though.

ahhh thanks very much Ryan, far clearer in my mind now!

 

so -6 would be 6/16"/0.375 of an inch - 9.525mm. so probably ideally used with the braided hose as well.

 

think I've just scared myself, seen the prices of this stuff

 

405 filter it is!
