springs 0 Posted September 22, 2008 im going to be buying some uprated suspension through the GAZ group buy.. im just wondering what the best setup will be for the car.. its mainly going to be used on track but still going to be a road going car my idea is either going to be front coilovers or the normal shocks and springs kit with a 40mm drop if i go for coilovers what springs would i need?? my only experience really is on the old car where i just used lowering springs on standard shocks
jimistdt 1 Posted September 22, 2008 Your best bet is to do LOTS and LOTS of searches on the subject by people who have first hand experience, spring rates are a matter of personal preference and what is OK for one may not be suited to the other. Good Luck Jimi
Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted September 22, 2008 I've got the GAZ coilovers and am very happy with them. Personally considering the prices I think it would be daft to go for fixed platform stuff when the coilovers are not that much more. As for spring rate best place to start is on the advice of the dealer. They suggested 225lb springs for me which I thought would be too hard, but in actual fact I think they are just fine.
