happygoron 2 Posted September 19, 2008 Hi, just got back from looking at a 205, looked pretty tidy, usual idling issues etc. Only things that concerned me was the alarm certificate was missing, is this easy to get re certified? Also there was large cracks above the rear windows with what appeared to be rust underneath the cracking, is this a big job to sort out?
timmsy19 3 Posted September 19, 2008 (edited) alarm certs arnt to bad most insurance companies will accept a letter on headed paper from a car audio/alarm specialist stating its been checked over and works as it should which reminds me i really need to get mine looked at as my insurance comapny need one the cracks are just a sign of years or body flex iirc. dont really think its a huge issue although the rust might be. not a huge amount of work to get it sorted i wouldnt imagine Edited September 19, 2008 by timmsy19

Cheers for the advice, I decided against it because of those cracks, as you said the rust might be an issue as I have no idea how bad it is and the car has had a respray ~4 years ago and had already cracked so I think it could be worse beneath.... Ah well, plenty more fish in the sea!
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted September 22, 2008 The crack's are the sealent shinking more than anything, It's just part of the roof channel which does nothing really as the join is on the rear qtr window, Rust is getting common there now mainly due to water getting in and not getting out, Wip the sealer out and treat then replace and re-paint
