Phase 1.5 To 2 Different Wiring

I have just fitted my mi engine, it has been in a 205 befor (phase 2). Now i have fitted it into my phase 1.5 pluged the 2 brown plugs in under the dash and ecu, fogot to say engine came with loom. Whan i turn the key to 2nd position the engine turns over, are there differences between the phase 1.5 to phase 2 wiring, or was it pot luck how they came out the factory.

There is.

 

From memory, the ignition live and starter on the brown plug under the dash is swapped round for some reason.

 

Swap these 2 pins and it should fire up. But this tends to be for the rather later Phase 2 cars...

my phase 1.5 sorrento 1.9 has a 10 pin brown plug

My phase 1.5 grey 1.6 one has a 9 pin plug

Any ideas?

on my 1.6 pin 9 has 2 wires on it one red and the other yellow .You have to love it. It may be that pug put another pin in, or did you count the wires rather than the pins?

yep, my 1.9 is like that, 2 wires to pin 9.

wow glad i was checkin posts i came across this problem at the weekend andd i was not happy about it as i know sod all about wiring lol. can anyone tell us which two pins to switch over to save me swearing at the search function.

You need to swap wire #2 (red - ignition) and wire #46 (blue - starter) between Phase 1.5 and Phase 2 looms

right sorry i cant get it working stil. i cant figure out which wires to swap. tried the search but no joy. could someone please check and tell me which two need swapping. the numbers you mentiontioned anthony dont seem to match any on my looms lol. can someone tell me the numbers of the pins of the plug 1-9 that need switching or is it on the 5/6 pin small one?
