Veero 1 Posted September 16, 2008 Now I know the cars are different sizes obviously but I remember a while ago someone modifying a 206 dash to fit the 205... Would the rear seat bench from a 206 be narrow enough to fit in a 205? I guess the fronts would probably go relatively easily with some custom subframes but I have no idea how wide the 206 is inside and there aren't any 206's in scrappies near me that I've seen recently so I can't measure any. The 206 GTi half leather interior seems a bit more hard wearing than the self disintegrating 205 variety and there seem to be a few written off 206 GTis around. Cheers Veero
MerlinGTI 3 Posted September 17, 2008 I was told GTI 180 front seats fit in a 205, but there will be some sodding about with the subframes methinks (no biggie ) I wouldnt of thought the rears would fit, they have rounded edges and would look weird. Thats even if they are wide enough (or to wide.. I think they are narrorow-er actually?). Im pretty sure they mount differently as well.
Veero 1 Posted September 17, 2008 Yeah the fronts would just need a new subframe made up, nothing too bad, I know the rear bench is a bit curvy but the 306 bench is similar to the 205 so wondering if the 206 is aong the same lines, if it is and will vaguely fit I reckon there's a slim chance it will all go. Could someone measure the interior width of a 206 between the rear interior panels?
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted September 17, 2008 by the way, 306 rear seats are quite a bit wider and the longer "half" of the bench would need to be chopped to roughly the other side's length in order to fit, but otherwise it should be doable.
steve@cornwall 100 Posted September 17, 2008 A neighbour was going to fit 205 R.garros seats in a saxo - width of the rears is VERY close. IIRC the 106 / saxo rear base is slightly wider, not measured but certainly would "squash in " to the 205 without being noticeable. I would think you would need to bolt the 106 base directly through the 205 body, making them non-tiltable. The rear seat backs retaining clips are in totally the wrong position, of course, But the seats are close size- wise, It's just mountings that are totally different. Veero 1 Posted September 18, 2008 Nik I meant the way the 306 seats mount and tilt looks similar to the 205 but the rear 306 bench is a fair bit wider, it's the 206 seats into the 205 Im interested in.
