weejimmy 1 Posted September 13, 2008 is the 2.1 td (xu11) block taller than the xu9 block? and would this be beter for building a 2.1 etc than using a xu9 ? just a lot of stuff floating around about 2.1 engines and wonderd if it could be usefull to use the 2.1td block instead. Mandic 0 Posted September 13, 2008 AFAIK it is the same height as all other iron XU blocks, so yes, it's taller than XU9. But 2.1TD block is not the same as XU10, the biggest difference is the water pump, which is at the back. Cheers Ziga
weejimmy 1 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) so no gains over the xu10, just the inconvience of the water pump. not worth considering Edited September 13, 2008 by weejimmy
weejimmy 1 Posted September 13, 2008 or dose it have thicker walls or anything?
Mandic 0 Posted September 13, 2008 Not that I know... I haven't bothered investigating, but a brief look at the block leads me to believe You''l have problems with tensioners as well. Cheers Ziga
foreigner 0 Posted October 3, 2008 It's 12v engine and it's taller than xud9 and also wider so you have to alter bulkhead as one of the guys on here done. Good luck and let me know how it goes. there is thread somewhere here about the conversion.
