gtiles85 0 Posted September 12, 2008 Hi, i'm new to this site so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong section I have just purchased a gti6 engine that come out of my mates 309 and i have also got the 6 speed box for it of him, but due to the steering problems you get with that box when its in the 309/205 i would like something more managable to use. I have heard that the 1.9 box can be used but i just want confermation really ? Also would i need to do anything to it like putting a better clutch in ? weejimmy 1 Posted September 12, 2008 hey and welcome lots of gearboxes will fit 1.6 and 1.9 gti fit , also diesel and d turbo 306 xs,i , d and d turbo, ``` 405 mi16 / s16 d and d turbo you can pick most up cheap enough on a gti-6 mayby a 1.9 or mi16 depending on driving style 1.6 very short 1.9 in the middle and mi16 longer so plenty of coice Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
