thinking about it ay 1.8 or 2.0 16v motors use the same set up. I think even the EW engines are very similar.

Sorry I was thinking just tensioners for cambelt etc. I understand what you mean now.

Theres at least 3 different set ups.

option 1, alternator is on a long bolt and pivots to tighten the belt. Generally found without PAS and AC

option 2, theres a roller tensioner on an arm with a bolt through it which winds down to tighten the belt, alternator is usually fixed position on a bar and car generally has PAS but not AC

option 3, theres a sprung loaded tensioner for the belt that bolts to the side of the sump (alloy AC sump), generally car will have AC and PAS.

I would need to see a photo of your current brackets on the engine and prefereably a side on view of where the belt will run with alternator on its main bolt at least. Sure I can work it out from there and get you some pics from engines at work

here's the steel sump non a/c bracket, PAS pump sits on the lower part, Alt on the top part with a strap to the engine mounting, and a tensioner roller attached to the 2 allen headed bolts you can see (same tensioner as many XUD9TE's)
