sss_205GTI 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Hi guys, ive seen that the top mounts are an advisory on the MOT and since ive purchased the car - theres a donk donk (almost hollow) sound coming from the OSF - pretty much all the time - doesnt sound drive shafty - not a knocking sound - you rekon that will most likely be the cause? I know its nigh on impossible to diagnose a fault over the internet but theres no common problems with racks or arms i should know about? Its had the ARB bush's (and a driveshaft) done in june - not sure if the links were done too Thanks Laura
Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted September 9, 2008 Could be a number of things, if the top mounts have been an advisory then obviously they are not in the best of health. However more commonly on 205's it is the anti roll bar drop links, these are reasonably cheap and easy to replace. Only way to diagnose it really is to get it jacked up with the wheel off and give everything a good tug to see where the play is.
