humanz 3 Posted September 7, 2008 I've done a search and I've found a couple different codes, but not the ones I was looking for. I've also done a search of the various plug manufacturers websites, but I'm still coming up short. I'm looking for plugs to fit a 1.9 gti, namely Bosch yytrium Bosch Super4 NGK Iridium NGK with multiple electrodes What are their codes?
saveloy 8 Posted September 7, 2008 I always choose NGK. If it is a standard engine, then simply fit BCP7ES, or BCPR7ES. These are no more than £2 each. If you would like better throttle response and a small increase in performance, then fit BCP7EV. These are gold paladium plugs and cost £25 for a set of four. Forget the NGK Iridium plugs, although excellent, they cost about £25 each. Gap the plugs to 0.9mm. You will find that this aids the idle and smoothness. If you encounter any flat spots, then decrease the gap by 0.1mm increments, until all is well.
