wardy18 33 1 Cars Posted September 7, 2008 What Ratios and CWP etc are in the 306 XSi 1.8 16v Box? Its not on that Ratios spreadsheet......?! Thanx
alync406 4 Posted September 7, 2008 There are alot of different ratios for these gearboxes.I looked on servicebox and the Final drive ratios can be - 4.53,4.4,3.79 or 3.95. First gear seems to be the same for all - 3.45. Second - 1.87,1.74 or 1.95. Third - 1.28,1.36 or 1.15. Fourth - 1.05,0.95 or 0.82. Fifth - 0.79,0.86,0.65 or 0.74. I wanted different gear ratios for my rally car and i did not find any of these gearboxes with a 4.53 or 4.4 final drive.I got a final drive out of a Berlingo which was a 4.53,but the problem with this was it was a BE4 gearbox so 3rd and 4th out of the 205 gearbox wouldn't fit this shaft as the splines were different.I sorted this by getting a BE4 out of a 1.8 406.The 3rd out of this was 1.36 and fourth 1.05 which is the same as the standard 205 gears and i also used the fifth out of this gearbox which was 0.79.I am really happy with this gearing it has made a big difference to the car. alync406 4 Posted September 7, 2008 The only way you will know what final drive ratio it has is by taking off the diff housing. The amount of teeth are stamped on the crown wheel.17X77=4.53,14X62=4.4,19X72=3.79,19X75=3.95.
