jimmer 0 Posted September 7, 2008 I'm about to rebuild my engine, am i right in thinking the oil pump shouldn't need replacing because it doesn't wear much? Also is it possible to get an uprated oil pump spring to fit the gti6 pump pressure relief valve (it looks very similar to 205/mi16 if not identicle) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Sandy 191 Posted September 7, 2008 As long as the gears haven't ground away the casing, generally they're ok. Remove the plate from the pick up and clean the gauze. The 6 bar spring in the GTI6 pump is perfectly adequate, you don't need any more pressure than that one provides. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
